The fourth book in the series in the well-loved Anne Shirley series. Anne is now a young woman, who is beginning a romance with Gilbert Blythe. Can Anne show her characteristic bravery to overcome these obstacles and prove herself?
Review
This review is tricky to write because I did not like this book. I didn’t like how it took so much away from Anne and Gilbert’s story. The entire time I was thinking that it would;ve been better as a bonus novella, not a book in the main story line. It’s essentially just three years of nothing that adds to the main plot.
And then, after finishing it and reviewing it, I learned that it was the last book that Montgomery wrote in this series, essentially making it a bonus book. I think that if I were to have that in mind, I would’ve enjoyed it more. Whenever I reread this series, I will read it in publication order, not chronological order.

*Two stars was my initial thoughts on this book.
**This is the correct number for books read in 2025. The previous book was a beta read for Victoria Dixon and I do not review beta reads because they’re not the final version of a book, but trust me . . . it’s good.
