Before explaining what The Barroso Book Nook is, I want to remind you what The Barroso Bindery is. The Barroso Bindery is a collection of updates, slow living, blogs, and book reviews from a Christian worldview. It's a space where writing and daily life combine. As I spend most of my days as a working stay-at-home mom, writing often doesn't get the light I want it to. This space is somewhere where I could do all of it cohesively.
What is The Barroso Book Nook?
So, what is the Barroso Book Nook? The Barroso Book Nook is what I’ve called my paid Substack subscribers group. The focus is to build a community of readers. This is so much more than just a street team (though I have one of those, too); it’s a group of togetherness.
All of the content is for my paid subscribers. It’s hard to combine all the benefits into three lines, so here’s the gist . . .
Tending, Telling, Trusting Tools
As my day-to-day is so much more than writing. As a working SAHM and homemaker, I often feel like a poser saying that I’m an author. And, therefore, I’ve deemed my tagline “Tending Home, Telling, Tales, Trusting God.” My aim is to live a simple, quiet life that glorifies the Lord, and I want to offer tools to help others in that journey. All blog posts will remain public, and occasional blog posts will include a paid digital download. These digital products are one of the benefits of the Barroso Book Nook members.
Behind-the-Scenes Updates
A recorded video update is sent on the 15th of every month. It’s really just me chatting to the camera. No edits, no frills, just real, raw chats.

Subscriber Seasonal Stories
Together, we’ll build a seasonal short story. Before the start of a new season, I’ll announce ideas I have for the next seasonal short story. Stories will be released here on Substack and as an e-book.

This feature is provided by Substack and is best used on the Substack app. This is a way to ask me questions, answer questions that I have regarding the seasonal story writing process. To help identify each thread, I’ll post the topic first in all caps. For example: “SEASONAL STORY: Vote for the Autumn story genre. Contemporary Romance or Fantasy.”
