Review
It’s sort of ironic if you know the story because, growing up, I often saw this book and thought “With a title like ‘Anne’ this can’t possibly be good.” I, like Anne, never liked my name growing up. I thought “Anna” was too common and even asked my parents to change it to “Annabelle” one summer before the start of the school year.
During the lockdown of 2020, I watched Anne with an E and knew that I would just love these books . . . and I was absolutely right. I was actually so convinced that they sort of intimidated me. I was gifted a beautiful box set for my birthday in 2023 but didn’t start reading the series until the end of 2024–I think it was just on time.
I see so much of myself in Anne and I think that it’s a story that every little girl should read. I look forward to reading her story to my daughter when she grows older. It’s absolutely delightful and feels like a good hug after a hard day.

*Even though I read this book toward the end of last year, I felt that it was important to share my review since I’m continuing the series this year.
